Tirzepatide reconstitution calculator.
Tirzepatide vials come in the widest range of any compound here, from 5 mg up to 60 mg, so a concentration table copied from someone else is more likely wrong than right. The approved products, Mounjaro and Zepbound, are supplied ready to inject and need none of this.
Reference range often cited for Tirzepatide: 2500–15000 mcg, shown for orientation only, not a recommendation. Enter your own target below. Read the evidence →
Each unit on a 100u · 1.0 mL syringe ≈ 25 mcg of this solution.
Show the math
More water → lower concentration → more units for the same amount.
What changes the math for Tirzepatide.
- The spread matters: 10 mg in 2 mL is 5,000 mcg/mL, while 60 mg in the same 2 mL is 30,000 mcg/mL. The same 5 mg target is 10 units on one and under 2 units on the other.
- At the high end the draw can be too small to measure reliably. If a target lands under about 5 units, more water is what makes it readable.
- Amounts are discussed in mg (2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg and up), so enter mg and let the tool convert rather than adding zeros by hand.

Weekly SC injection. Zepbound titration is 4 steps over 16+ weeks.
Tirzepatide (Mounjaro for diabetes; Zepbound for weight) is a once-weekly subcutaneous injection administered via a single-use auto-injector pen. Dose escalation from the Zepbound prescribing information is below.
If tolerability is an issue, dose escalation can be delayed. Your prescriber determines when to advance.
Compounded tirzepatide is not the FDA-approved product and may differ in salt form, concentration accuracy, and sterility. The clinical trial evidence applies to the approved branded drugs.
FAQ.
How much bacteriostatic water for a 10 mg tirzepatide vial?
Any volume that gives you a readable draw. 2 mL is 5,000 mcg/mL and 1 mL is 10,000 mcg/mL. The peptide amount is identical either way, only the volume per unit changes.
Why is my tirzepatide draw only 1 or 2 units?
Your solution is concentrated relative to your target, which happens on larger vials mixed with little water. Small draws magnify measurement error, so increasing the water volume is the usual fix.
Are Mounjaro and Zepbound the same as a compounded vial?
They are the same molecule, but the approved products are manufactured solutions in single-dose pens with an FDA-approved label. A lyophilized vial is a different presentation with a different regulatory status, covered on the legal status page.
This page is arithmetic on numbers you enter. It does not recommend an amount of Tirzepatide, and nothing here is medical advice. For what the published evidence actually supports, read the Tirzepatide profile, and for regulatory status see is Tirzepatide legal. Reviewed June 1, 2026.
