5-Amino-1MQ reconstitution calculator.
A 50 mg vial of 5-Amino-1MQ dissolved in 2 mL of bacteriostatic water is 25,000 mcg per mL, which is 250 mcg per unit on a U-100 insulin syringe.
5-Amino-1MQ is not a peptide but a small-molecule salt, and its main research format is an oral capsule, where there is nothing to reconstitute. This calculator applies only to the 50 mg lyophilized vial, and a capsule strength is not a number to enter here: an oral figure and an injected one describe different routes.
Reference range often cited for 5-Amino-1MQ: 2500–5000 mcg, shown for orientation only, not a recommendation. Enter your own target below. Read the evidence →
⚠ Highly concentrated solution: each unit holds a lot of peptide, so small marking differences represent large amount differences.
⚠ Very small draw volume: measurement error risk may be higher.
Each unit on a 100u · 1.0 mL syringe ≈ 250 mcg of this solution.

More water → lower concentration → more units for the same amount.
How much bacteriostatic water for a 5-Amino-1MQ vial?
There is no single correct volume. More water gives a weaker solution, so each unit on the syringe holds less 5-Amino-1MQ and a given amount takes more units to measure, which is easier to read on the syringe scale. Less water does the opposite. These tables show the concentration for each common vial size across the usual volumes. They are arithmetic, not a recommendation of how much to take.
| BAC water | Concentration | Per 1 unit | Per 10 units |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mL | 50,000 mcg/mL | 500 mcg | 5,000 mcg |
| 1.5 mL | 33,333 mcg/mL | 333.3 mcg | 3,333 mcg |
| 2 mL | 25,000 mcg/mL | 250 mcg | 2,500 mcg |
| 2.5 mL | 20,000 mcg/mL | 200 mcg | 2,000 mcg |
| 3 mL | 16,667 mcg/mL | 166.7 mcg | 1,667 mcg |
How many units of 5-Amino-1MQ is a given amount?
Divide the amount in micrograms by the micrograms per unit for your mix. With a solution of 2,500 mcg per mL, one unit on a U-100 syringe holds 25 mcg, so any amount in mcg divided by 25 gives the units. The calculator above does this for you from your own vial and water, and the tables give the per-unit figure for each common mix.
Why does 5-Amino-1MQ need its own calculation?
- 50 mg in 3 mL, the volume in the example table on this page, is about 16,667 mcg/mL, so each U-100 unit holds about 167 mcg. In 2 mL it is 25,000 mcg/mL, 250 mcg per unit, past the point where the calculator flags a highly concentrated solution.
- Amounts discussed for it run in milligrams, so enter mg and let the tool convert. On 50 mg in 5 mL (10,000 mcg/mL), 5 mg is 50 units.
- As a methylquinolinium compound it exists as a salt with a counter-ion, and the labeled 50 mg may include that counter-ion's mass. The calculator works on the labeled figure, as it does for every compound.
How is 5-Amino-1MQ administered, and what does the math look like?
How 5-Amino-1MQ is actually administered, with the concentration arithmetic written out. Amounts in these tables are illustrative examples of the math, never a recommendation.
5-Amino-1MQ: research formats
Choose the format you are researching to see route-specific notes.
Primary research format for this small molecule. Highly bioavailable orally.
5-Amino-1MQ is a small NNMT inhibitor (not a peptide chemically) with good oral bioavailability. It is the standard research format because GI absorption is efficient, unlike most peptides. Typically sold as 50 mg capsules.
5-Amino-1MQ reconstitution: common questions
Is 5-Amino-1MQ a peptide?
No. It is a small-molecule inhibitor of the enzyme NNMT that is marketed alongside research peptides. The reconstitution arithmetic is the same mass divided by volume, but the chemistry, and the evidence, belong to a different kind of compound.
Can I use this calculator for 5-Amino-1MQ capsules?
No. A capsule is a fixed mass with nothing to dissolve, so there is no concentration to work out. The arithmetic here only exists for the lyophilized vial.
How much bacteriostatic water for a 50 mg vial?
Any volume that makes your draw readable. 3 mL gives about 16,667 mcg/mL and 5 mL gives 10,000 mcg/mL, the same 50 mg in more liquid. More water spreads a milligram figure over more of the syringe.

Knowing the concentration is not the same as knowing whether to use it. These are the strongest studies behind the 5-Amino-1MQ profile, labelled with the study type PubMed itself assigns.
