Semax reconstitution calculator.
Semax is usually used intranasally rather than injected, and vials run 10 mg to 30 mg, which is large against targets in the hundreds of micrograms. For nasal use the useful output is amount per drop, not syringe units.
Reference range often cited for Semax: 200–600 mcg, shown for orientation only, not a recommendation. Enter your own target below. Read the evidence →
Each unit on a 100u · 1.0 mL syringe ≈ 50 mcg of this solution.
Show the math
More water → lower concentration → more units for the same amount.
What changes the math for Semax.
- 10 mg in 1 mL is 10,000 mcg/mL. A typical dropper delivers roughly 0.05 mL per drop, which would carry about 500 mcg at that concentration.
- Nasal preparation is why round numbers are chosen: a concentration that puts a whole target into one or two drops is easier to use than one requiring fractions.
- If you are drawing into a syringe instead, the same concentration reads as units directly, and the calculator shows both volume and units.

Semax: research formats

Standard format. Nasal mucosa absorption bypasses the blood-brain barrier more efficiently than SC.
Semax is commercially available in Russia as a registered nasal spray (Semax 0.1% and 1%) and is widely used in intranasal form in research contexts globally. The intranasal route is strongly preferred over injection because the olfactory epithelium offers direct CNS access and avoids first-pass degradation.
0.1% solution = 1 mg/mL; 1% solution = 10 mg/mL. One drop from a standard nasal dropper is approximately 0.03–0.05 mL (30–50 µL): that is 30–50 mcg at 0.1% or 300–500 mcg at 1%.
Semax is typically reconstituted from lyophilized powder in bacteriostatic saline or preserved water, then stored in a nasal dropper bottle. The 1% concentration is more compact and common for research use.
FAQ.
How do I turn a Semax concentration into drops?
Divide the target by the concentration to get a volume, then divide that by the volume per drop of your dropper, commonly around 0.05 mL. The calculator gives you the volume; the drop count depends on your specific dropper.
Does intranasal use change the reconstitution math?
No. Mass divided by volume is the same regardless of route. What changes is the unit you care about at the end, volume per drop rather than syringe units.
Is Semax approved anywhere?
It is registered in Russia and some neighbouring countries and is not FDA-approved. The compound profile explains what that means for the published evidence base, most of which is single-group.
This page is arithmetic on numbers you enter. It does not recommend an amount of Semax, and nothing here is medical advice. For what the published evidence actually supports, read the Semax profile, and for regulatory status see is Semax legal. Reviewed June 1, 2026.
