Tesamorelin reconstitution calculator.
Tesamorelin is the only GHRH analog with an FDA-approved human indication, and Egrifta comes with its own reconstitution instructions: a 2 mg vial and a 2.1 mL prefilled syringe of sterile water. If you have the approved product, follow that labeling, not a calculator.
Reference range often cited for Tesamorelin: 1000–2000 mcg, shown for orientation only, not a recommendation. Enter your own target below. Read the evidence →
Each unit on a 100u · 1.0 mL syringe ≈ 25 mcg of this solution.
Show the math
More water → lower concentration → more units for the same amount.
What changes the math for Tesamorelin.
- The labeled presentation reconstitutes to a known concentration by design, which is why the instructions for use specify both the vial and the diluent volume.
- Research and compounded tesamorelin is sold as 5 mg and 10 mg vials, which do not match the labeled presentation, so labeled figures do not transfer.
- 5 mg in 2 mL is 2,500 mcg/mL, so 1 mg is 40 units. 10 mg in the same volume halves that to 20 units for the same 1 mg.

FDA-approved (EGRIFTA); provided as 2 mg vial with supplied sterile water diluent.
Tesamorelin (Egrifta) is the only GHRH analog FDA-approved for a human indication (HIV-associated lipodystrophy). It is dispensed as a 2 mg lyophilized vial with a 2.1 mL prefilled syringe of sterile water. Reconstituted concentration is approximately 1 mg/mL.
The off-label use of tesamorelin in research contexts (general body-composition improvement) uses the same subcutaneous route but is not an approved indication.
FAQ.
How is Egrifta reconstituted?
The approved product is supplied as a lyophilized vial with a prefilled syringe of sterile water, and the instructions for use specify the procedure and volume. That labeling governs. This calculator is for vials that arrive without one.
Can I use the labeled concentration with a 5 mg research vial?
No. The labeled figure describes the labeled presentation. A different vial mass reconstituted to a different volume is a different concentration, so the units would be wrong.
Does sterile water or bacteriostatic water change the math?
Not the arithmetic, only the shelf life. Volume is volume. Sterile water has no preservative, so a vial mixed with it is not intended for repeated draws over weeks.
This page is arithmetic on numbers you enter. It does not recommend an amount of Tesamorelin, and nothing here is medical advice. For what the published evidence actually supports, read the Tesamorelin profile, and for regulatory status see is Tesamorelin legal. Reviewed June 1, 2026.
Different question? The general reconstitution calculator covers every compound on the site, the blend calculator handles multi-peptide stacks, and vial longevity turns a vial into weeks of supply.
