Comparison

PepCue vs Smart Peptide Tracker.

Smart Peptide Tracker takes the question of what happens to your data more seriously than most apps in this category. Logs are stored locally with an optional PIN, cloud sync is available but optional, backups can go to iCloud or Google Drive, and the whole record imports and exports as a file. Around that sits a full tracker with a reconstitution calculator, a cycle planner, a cost tracker and a premium stack analyzer. PepCue matches it on keeping data local, falls behind it on backups, and spends its own effort on grading the evidence behind each compound.

The short version
Pick PepCue if

You want tracking without paying anything, and you want the compounds in your stack graded on published human evidence rather than described in general reference entries.

Pick Smart Peptide Tracker if

You want your record behind a PIN, backed up to iCloud or Google Drive, portable as a file and optionally synced, along with a stack analyzer and a cycle planner. Smart Peptide Tracker is built for that, while PepCue relies on the phone's own backup.

How much of this we could verify

Checked against Smart Peptide Tracker's App Store listing in October 2026, and their column comes from that listing. We have not printed prices, ratings or review counts, and we have not examined how its stack analyzer reaches its results.

Side by side, verifiable rows only.

A cell is filled only where we could confirm the fact from public information. “Not verified” means we could not confirm it, not that the app lacks it.

What PepCue does differently.

The sharpest difference is how each app treats a stack. Smart Peptide Tracker offers a Stack Analyzer that charts compatibility and overlap, along with synergy detection. We have not examined the logic behind either, so we make no claim about them. PepCue asks a narrower and less comfortable question: has this combination ever been tested in people? Its stack pages usually find that the components were studied alone and the combination was never compared with placebo or with either component by itself.

That position follows from the grading model. Every compound carries an S to F tier computed from six scored axes: human evidence, preclinical depth, mechanism confidence, safety clarity, regulatory clarity and practical relevance. The thresholds and a worked example are published. Safety clarity measures how well a safety profile is known rather than how safe something is, so a compound with no human toxicology sits at the floor, and combining two such compounds produces an interaction profile nobody has characterised.

A general reference library and a graded one also differ in what they let you conclude. A general entry tells you what a compound is said to do. A PepCue profile tells you how strong the evidence is that it does it, backed by 306 cited sources across 69 profiles and a generated index of 274 unique PubMed records re-resolved against live PubMed by an audit script kept in the repo.

Finally, price. PepCue is free to use with no subscription gate on logging, schedules or the calculators, and the 9 calculators also run in a browser with no install. There are no affiliate codes, no vendor rankings and no dosing guidance anywhere on the site.

Where Smart Peptide Tracker is stronger.

Data protection is where Smart Peptide Tracker is clearly ahead. Its listing describes local storage with an optional PIN, cloud sync that is available but not required, backups to iCloud or Google Drive with the ability to compare them, and full JSON import and export. PepCue relies on the phone's own encrypted backup and an export from Settings, which works but asks more of you when you change devices.

The planning tools are broad too. A cycle planner with progress bars, a cost tracker in multiple currencies, backfilling of missed entries for up to two weeks, and support for custom blends and partly used vials cover the bookkeeping of a long multi-compound protocol in detail. PepCue covers cost tracking and blend math, but we would not claim parity on the rest.

It also offers Apple Health syncing for weight and glucose, where PepCue reads weight but not glucose, and an in-app chat assistant, which PepCue has too. And a one-time purchase option for premium features will suit people who would rather not subscribe to anything.

FAQ.

Can I back up my PepCue data like Smart Peptide Tracker?

PepCue stores tracking data in an on-device database. A new install starts empty unless your phone's own encrypted backup restores it, so take an export from Settings before changing phones. Smart Peptide Tracker offers its own iCloud and Google Drive backups, optional sync and JSON import and export, which is more flexible.

Does PepCue analyse stacks?

PepCue publishes evidence checks on the stacks people search for, and most conclude that the combination has never been tested against placebo or against either component alone. That is a reading of the published evidence, not a compatibility score and not a recommendation.

Is Smart Peptide Tracker free?

It is free to download, with premium tiers and add-ons sold in the app, including a one-time option. We do not print its prices. PepCue is free to use, and a full protocol can be run without paying.

Can I use both?

Yes. PepCue's library, tier board and calculators need no account, so you can read a compound's grade on the website while keeping your log wherever you prefer.
