Comparison

PepCue vs Shotlee.

Shotlee is one of the broadest trackers in this category. It covers GLP-1 medications, research peptides and hormone therapy in one app, runs on iPhone, Android and a web dashboard, and pairs the tracker with an AI companion, Apple Health integration, a community chat and a very large library of articles and calculators. PepCue is narrower and grows more slowly on purpose. Its bet is that a smaller library where every compound carries a computed, published grade is worth more to some readers than a larger one where it does not.

The short version
Pick PepCue if

You want each compound graded on a disclosed model before you read anything else about it, you want tracking that is free with no account, and you would rather your log stayed on your phone.

Pick Shotlee if

You want one app for a GLP-1, a peptide and hormone therapy together, on Android or in a browser as well as on iPhone, with an AI companion that writes weekly summaries and a community of people on the same medications. Shotlee has all of those. PepCue shares the multi-compound tracking, an in-app assistant and Apple Health on iPhone, but has no web version of your log.

How much of this we could verify

Checked against Shotlee's App Store listing and its own website in October 2026, and their column comes from those two sources. We have not printed a price, a rating or a review count, and we have not audited the accuracy of Shotlee's articles, so this page makes no claim about them either way.

Side by side, verifiable rows only.

A cell is filled only where we could confirm the fact from public information. “Not verified” means we could not confirm it, not that the app lacks it.

What PepCue does differently.

The honest framing is breadth against depth. Shotlee covers more medications, more platforms and many more pages than PepCue does, and its site says those pages are researched from primary sources: FDA labels, prescribing information and peer-reviewed trials. PepCue does not dispute that. Its claim is narrower. On PepCue, every compound carries a grade that is computed rather than written, and the rules for computing it are public.

That grade runs from S to F and comes from six scored axes: controlled human evidence, preclinical depth, mechanism confidence, safety clarity, regulatory clarity and practical relevance. The thresholds and a worked example on a real compound are on the methodology page. The point is not that a letter is more accurate than an article. It is that a reader who disagrees can name the axis they think is wrong, and a compound with deep animal data and no human trials cannot hide that gap behind a well-written page.

The sourcing is checked by machine rather than by trust. Across 69 profiles there are 306 cited sources, and a generated research index of 274 unique PubMed records is pulled from NCBI and re-resolved against live PubMed by an audit script kept in the repo. A smaller library is easier to hold to that standard, which is part of why PepCue grows slowly.

The rest is practical. PepCue is free to use with no account, and the 9 calculators run in a browser with no install. Tracking data sits in a database on your phone rather than on a server. There are no affiliate codes, no vendor rankings and nothing for sale anywhere on the site, and no page tells anyone what to take.

Where Shotlee is stronger.

Shotlee does more than PepCue in several directions at once, and each is a real reason to choose it. The AI is the first. Both apps have an assistant, but Shotlee's writes weekly summaries and personalised insights for you, while PepCue AI answers questions about your log and turns away anything that reads as dosing advice. If you want the summaries written for you, PepCue does not do that.

Platform reach is the second. Both apps run on iPhone and Android, but Shotlee adds a web dashboard, so the same log can be reviewed on a laptop. PepCue keeps the log on your phone, which is better for privacy and worse if you want your history on a bigger screen.

The community chat is the third. A community of people on the same medications offers something no reference site can: other people's lived experience. On Apple Health the two are closer than they look, since both connect to it on iPhone.

Scope is the last. Shotlee's coverage runs past TRT into HRT, HCG and other injectables, and the app is offered in many languages. If your protocol leans on hormone therapy, or English is not your first language, that breadth may matter more to you than a grading model does.

FAQ.

Is Shotlee or PepCue better for GLP-1 tracking?

Both track GLP-1 medications alongside other compounds. Shotlee adds an AI companion, Apple Health integration, a community and a web dashboard. PepCue adds a graded evidence profile for each compound, built on a published model, and keeps the log on your phone. If GLP-1 tracking is the whole job, the extra features may matter more to you than the grade.

Is Shotlee free?

Shotlee is free to download and sells an optional Pro subscription in the app. We do not print its price because pricing changes and we would rather you saw it at the source. PepCue is free to use, and a full protocol can be run without paying.

Does Shotlee publish more articles than PepCue?

Yes, by a wide margin, and it says they are researched from primary sources. PepCue publishes fewer pages and attaches a computed S to F grade, a published scoring model and NCBI-audited citations to each compound. More pages and graded pages are different goals, and both have readers.

Does PepCue have an AI companion or Apple Health sync like Shotlee?

Both, in a narrower form. PepCue AI answers questions about what you have logged and turns away dosing, sourcing and diagnosis questions. On iPhone, PepCue reads weight, body composition, heart rate and sleep from Apple Health and can save weight back. Google Health Connect sync is not advertised.
