Nasal Spray Concentration Calculator.
Powder, liquid and pump volume → amount per spray and sprays per bottle.
10 mg ÷ 10 mL = 1 mg/mL. 1 mg/mL × 0.1 mL = 100 mcg per spray. 10 mL ÷ 0.1 mL = 100 sprays.
How it works.
Pick a mode
From a vial works forward from powder and liquid. Plan a mix works backwards from an amount per dose that you type. Spray volume works out what one pump stroke delivers.
Enter the volumes
Concentration is the powder mass divided by the liquid volume. The other key number is the pump volume per spray. It defaults to 0.1 mL, a common metered pump output, but pumps differ, so check yours.
Read sprays and amounts
You get the concentration, the amount in each spray, how many sprays the liquid holds, and how many sprays reach an amount you enter, with the nearest whole spray counts when it does not divide evenly.
Keep the limits in mind
This is arithmetic. It does not tell you whether a compound is absorbed through the nose, stays stable in solution, or is safe by that route.
FAQ.
How is the amount per spray worked out?
Concentration in mg per mL is the powder mass divided by the liquid volume. Multiply that by the volume one pump stroke delivers. For example, 10 mg in 10 mL is 1 mg per mL, and a 0.1 mL spray of that holds 0.1 mg, which is 100 mcg.
Is 0.1 mL per spray always right?
No. It is a common output for metered nasal pumps, which is why it is the starting value, but pumps are made in different sizes. Use the figure in your pump's documentation, or measure it with the spray volume mode by counting the sprays it takes to empty a known volume.
Why do I get fewer sprays than the calculator says?
A new pump needs priming sprays before it delivers a full spray, and the last of the liquid often sits below the dip tube where the pump cannot reach it. Both use volume that the arithmetic counts as sprays.
Does this mean a peptide can be used as a nasal spray?
No. Whether a compound is absorbed through the nasal lining, stays stable in solution, and is safe by that route depends on the molecule and its formulation. This calculator only multiplies and divides the numbers you enter and does not suggest any amount.
What does the plan a mix mode give me?
Enter an amount per dose, the number of doses, the sprays that make up one dose, and the pump volume. It returns the total powder in mg and the total liquid in mL that would give that amount per dose at that spray count, plus the resulting concentration.
