Vial and inventory tracking.
Enter a vial once and it depletes as you log, with expiry dates, low-stock warnings, and a clean way to handle several vials at once.
Inventory is where a tracking app earns its place, because the alternative is a mental estimate of how much is left in a vial that you will get wrong at the worst possible moment.
Adding a vial.
- 01Enter the labelled strength of the vial, for example the number of milligrams of powder.
- 02If you reconstitute it, enter the volume of bacteriostatic water you added. The app derives the concentration from those two numbers.
- 03Enter what the vial cost, if you want cost tracking to work.
- 04Enter the date you opened or reconstituted it, plus any expiry or beyond-use date you are working to.
Automatic depletion.
Every dose you log draws down the vial it came from, so remaining volume and remaining doses update without you doing anything. If the remaining volume in the app stops matching the vial in front of you, the cause is almost always a wrong concentration at setup: either the strength or the diluent volume was entered incorrectly, and fixing the vial record corrects everything downstream.
Expiry and beyond-use dates.
PepCue stores whatever dates you enter and warns you as they approach. It does not invent them. Manufacturer expiry comes from the label, and a beyond-use date for a reconstituted preparation is set by whoever is supervising it, since it depends on the compound, the diluent, storage, and handling. The app will not calculate a stability window for you, because doing so would be manufacturing a fact.
Several vials at once.
Keep each physical vial as its own record, even when two hold the same compound. That way a dose is attributed to the vial it actually came from, cost per dose stays accurate across a price change, and a problem traced to one batch does not smear across your whole history. When a vial is finished, mark it as such rather than deleting it, so past doses keep their source.
Low stock.
Low-stock and expiry alerts fire on the thresholds you set. Set the low-stock warning to cover however long a reorder realistically takes you, rather than to the last dose.
