Selank is a stabilized analog of tuftsin, an endogenous immunomodulatory tetrapeptide from the Fc region of IgG, with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail added to resist enzymatic breakdown, and it is studied mainly as an anxiolytic and nootropic. The alternatives search is a jurisdiction problem. Selank is reported to have been registered in Russia around 2009 for anxiety and asthenic conditions as an intranasal preparation, but it is not FDA-approved, is not approved in the EU, and is sold elsewhere as a research chemical not for human consumption, so quality and legality vary.
