What that status actually means.
Humanin is not approved by the FDA for human use. It is sold labelled for laboratory research only, and that label is a regulatory posture adopted by the seller rather than a statement about safety, quality, or what happens after purchase.
Research-use-only material carries no requirement for the controls that apply to medicines. There is no lot release testing for sterility or endotoxins, no identity verification beyond whatever the seller chooses to provide, no manufacturing inspection, and no recall mechanism if a batch is wrong.
