Thymosin β-4 alternatives.

8 compounds compared to Thymosin β-4, ranked by published evidence tier and regulatory status, not by what's marketed hardest.

Why people look for an alternative

People arrive at thymosin beta-4 wanting the real molecule rather than whatever a TB-500 vial contains, which makes this a slightly different search: not a way out, but a way to something better defined. The evidence position is still limited. Full-length Tβ4 as RGN-259 completed Phase III trials in eye disease and has held orphan-drug designation, but it holds no marketing approval for any indication, and injectable material sold in the research market is unapproved. It is prohibited in sport at all times under WADA section S2. There is no approved actin-sequestering repair peptide to move to, so the alternatives below are category neighbors.

What you're comparing against
Thymosin β-4

Thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4) is a small, naturally occurring 43-amino-acid acidic peptide found in nearly all mammalian cells and in high concentrations in platelets, wound fluid, and many tissues.

How this list is built

An “alternative” here means a compound that shares Thymosin β-4's mechanism pathway or sits in the same category, not a marketing substitute. Each is ordered by PepCue's evidence tier (a weighted 0–100 score across human data, safety, replication and regulatory clarity), then by whether it's actually approved. This is a research reference, not medical or purchasing advice: an alternative sitting higher on evidence does not mean it's right, safe, or legal for any given use. Reviewed June 1, 2026.
