Why people look for an alternative

Sermorelin is a strange case, because it was approved and then simply stopped being sold. Geref and Geref Diagnostic held FDA approval for testing pituitary GH reserve and for idiopathic GH deficiency in children, and were voluntarily withdrawn from the US market in 2008 for commercial reasons rather than any safety or efficacy failure. Today there is no FDA-approved finished product and US access is through compounded preparations, which is what sends people looking. Within the GHRH analog family, tesamorelin is the one that still holds an approval, though for a narrow indication. The research-market analogs built on the same GHRH(1-29) backbone hold none.
