PT-141 is unusual here because it is approved, and people still search for alternatives. The reason is who the approval covers. As Vyleesi, bremelanotide was approved in June 2019 for acquired, generalized hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women, and it is not approved for men, for postmenopausal women, for erectile dysfunction, or for general libido enhancement. So most people reading this are outside the label and looking sideways. Worth knowing where it came from: it was refined from the tanning peptide melanotan II to favor sexual-function effects over pigmentation, and PT-141 sold as a research peptide outside the approved product is unapproved material.
