Cagrilintide is an amylin analog rather than an incretin drug, which is exactly why people go looking for it and then for alternatives to it. It is investigational and not approved by the FDA as a standalone drug; its route to market runs through CagriSema, the fixed-dose combination with semaglutide, whose application remains under review. So a searcher wanting the amylin mechanism on its own has nowhere approved to go. The practical alternatives all work through GLP-1 or GIP receptors instead, which is a different appetite pathway, and the only approved component of the CagriSema pair today is the semaglutide half.
